Love Notes

Back in February, we found this idea of creating pastry treats that resemble "love notes" and decided to give them a whirl. They were super easy to make with a short list of ingredients. The best part is they were actually delicious (think along the lines of a strawberry Pop-tart)! 

Here's what you need:

2 pie crusts

strawberry jam

dusting of flour

melted butter for brushing

sugar for sprinkling

Here's what you do:

Preheat over to 375 degrees. Dust a cutting board with flour. Roll out one refrigerated pie crust. Cut 4 diamond shapes (2 at a time, re-roll extra dough to yield 2 more). We made a template out of paper to follow for diamonds. Cut tiny hearts out of same dough. Put a spoonful of your favorite jam in the middle of the diamond. Fold sides in, fold bottom upwards like an envelope, and then "seal" with a heart. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 15 minutes.
