Valentine's Day Table

What's a holiday without a themed table? We opted for a pink and black combination for Valentine's Day this year instead of the traditional pink and red. Our starting point was a DIY easy enough for a 5 yr old. We made this runner last year with a simple roll of white paper marking it with x's and o's (even allowing the little ones to help). The imperfections add character and it's something we'll cherish for years to come (or until a spill takes place).

We have found that more is more when it comes to any sort of theme. You'll notice that we went heavy on the stripes by layering a striped runner on each side with striped placemats. And don't forget the heart-shaped plates from Target that everyone was posting about!
